About Heath

I have many fond memories of growing up in Lincoln Park, formerly known as the West End. My family moved here in 1984 and I attended Lincoln Elementary. Our family loved living in Duluth. My brother and sister, Noah and Robyn, and I enjoyed taking our dog for walks in the park.

I went on to Washington Junior High and then graduated from Denfeld in 1994. After that, I studied advertising and political science at St. Cloud State University.

Upon receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications, I moved to Minneapolis where I was hired as a Marketing Assistant at a market research firm. I was soon promoted to Marketing Manager, but after a few years I began to miss my family, friends, and Lake Superior.

I then expanded my knowledge of Mass Communications by attending the Graduate School of Communicating Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

I was then hired as the Marketing Manager at the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce. I enjoyed living and working in Bayfield, but again yearned to be closer to my family and friends in Duluth.

I was hired by the Lincoln Park Business Group in 2007 and have enjoyed being their Executive Director. Now, I have a direct role in revitalizing the community I love and cherish.

Our “Save the Harrison” campaign prevented a neighborhood landmark and asset from being demolished. We also formed the LPBG Streetscape Beautification Committee and kicked-off a litter-prevention program last year called the Lincoln Park Clean Sweep.

I’m currently working towards a Certificate in Non-Profit Management through UWS and recently obtained a Mini-Masters in Marketing Management from the University of St. Thomas.

I also attended a Neighborworks conference and earned a certificate from their Community Leadership Institute. They’re an organization that helps fund Neighborhood Housing Services of Duluth (NHS Duluth). I proudly serve on NHS Duluth’s Board of Directors as their Treasurer.

I’m also civically engaged in my community through memberships with the Harrison Community Club and the All American Club. I try to give as much time as I can to helping out.

Being the executive director at the Lincoln Park Business Group has been a great experience. It’s provided me with opportunities to help my community while making a positive impact on the lives of my friends and neighbors.

I also get to take my dog for walks in the park again. Except now it is with my niece and nephews.

Better business, better decisions, and better results!

That’s what you’ll get when I’m your city councilor.
